Blue Rock Construction is an established building firm having developed very successfully during the past 10 years.  The business continues to grow and has received notable recognition.  Last year their expertise was featured in a building series on Channel 4, their high standard of work was highlighted by BBC Essex and they also were nominated for the FMB ‘builder of the year’.

Blue Rock is now launching a new ‘Community Interest Company’ - ‘Blue Rock Community’.  The principals of the new venture - Tony Grisedale and Sally Hargraves have a simple vision: ‘to provide subsidised and free building services for community groups, play groups, pre-schools, charities and the elderly in the local area’. The new business will enable Blue Rock ‘to give something back to the local community’.

Community Interest companies are a non – profit company, i.e. profits remain in the business for the benefit of the local community.  This is how they differ to companies in general.

Blue Rock Community will receive financing by way of grants, through fund-raising and with the support of local businesses.

Blue Rock Construction will operate as usual offering a wide range of building services.  Additionally through Blue Rock Community they will now also use their skills to help members of the local community who may not otherwise be able to afford building services.

Blue Rock will increase their environmental and recycling policies; one exciting initiative will be introducing a scheme to install water harvesting equipment in the local community, at a subsidised cost, for those who meet their bursary criteria.
